A radio hit in fourth grade (when I was obsessed with the radio). Turns out it’s a cryptic but sincere portrait of the older generation trying to understand Gen X. (“You smile like a cartoon, tooth for tooth. You said irony was the shackles of youth.”) Easily one of my all-time favorites, and as far as music trivia goes, the Dan Rather incident simply cannot be beat.
